Elisa Rizza Moncada

MEET YOUR HOST

I’m Elisa Rizza Moncada, a Sicilian woman from Modica with a passion for food and cooking that spans more than twenty years. I offer cooking classes for guests who wish to discover Sicily through its cuisine. I also write a blog called “Buccia di Limone,” where I share my culinary experiences, personal stories and favorite recipes.

After a year and a half of careful restoration, I opened my family home to travelers discovering this enchanting corner of Sicily. I also created a kitchen that can become an intimate cooking school. Whether you would like to make Modica’s famous chocolate and learn its history, or prepare local specialties such as ricotta and marjoram ravioli, I’ll be delighted to share my family recipes and the memories behind them. If hands-on cooking isn’t your thing, I would be equally happy to prepare dinner or an aperitivo for you to enjoy on the terrace, surrounded by the beauty of Sicilian Baroque.

La mia cucina

I firmly believe that food is essential to understanding a place. Food tells the story of a land and the people who live there. If you are planning a visit to Modica, stay at Gioietta and discover Sicily through its authentic flavors and local culinary traditions.
