In a historic home in the Baroque heart of Modica, an authentic experience awaits: hands in the dough, time-honored aromas and techniques passed down through generations.
With Elisa — a passionate cook and teacher with nearly twenty years of experience — you will discover the flavors of Sicily in an intimate and welcoming setting.

Sicilian Fresh Pasta Class

  • Choose between a shorter class focused on one type of pasta, or the complete experience, where we prepare:
  • Ricotta and marjoram ravioli
  • Maccheroncini al ferretto
  • Busiate
  • Cavatelli and ridged gnocchi
  • A seasonal sauce to pair with the pasta
  • A traditional dessert

After the class, we will share lunch around our table, with an appetizer and a good bottle of Sicilian wine.

All utensils, ingredients and an apron will be provided.

Printed recipes in English or French will be yours to take home.

Duration: short class 3.5 hours; complete class 4.5 hours.

Participants: from 1 to 9. For larger groups, I collaborate with external venues.

Modica Chocolate Experience

  • Modica is famous worldwide for its chocolate. Together, we will explore its history before making your own chocolate bars by hand and flavoring them with your favorite spices. We will finish with a tasting of traditional sweets accompanied by dessert wine.  le spezie che più vi piacciono. Alla fine, degusteremo dolci tipici accompagnati da vino da dessert.

    You will receive the traditional recipe and its history in a take-home handout.

Where classes take place
All classes are held in Elisa’s private kitchen in the historic center of Modica, just a short walk from the Church of San Pietro and other Baroque landmarks.

Booking
Classes are available by appointment. To ensure availability, please book at least three days in advance.

Rates
Prices vary according to the selected experience: short class, complete class or chocolate experience. The price includes:
All ingredients
• Use of utensils and an apron
• Printed recipes in English or French
• Final meal with wine or dessert

 

What is not included

• Transportation to and from the class location
• Extras not listed in the program, such as special wines, photography services or souvenirs
• Private classes at another location, unless agreed in advance
Available languages
Classes can be held in Italian, English or French upon request.

Allergies and dietary requirements
Please inform us of any allergies or intolerances when booking, so the class can be adapted whenever possible.

Cancellations
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the class may incur a charge of 100% of the class price. Cancellations made less than 15 days in advance may incur a 50% charge; those made less than 30 days in advance may incur a 30% charge.
